– Roof is covered with photovoltaic panels in order to generate our own electricity, reducing its carbon footprint.
– LED lighting only throughout all the property to reduce energy costs and all appliances are energy-efficient.
– Lobby and suites feature design elements made from organic and locally-sourced materials. In addition, the hotel uses organic and locally-sourced materials for much of its day-to-day operations.
– All suites are equipped with Reflective Windows, an innovative eco-friendly coatings that also reduce glare, UV radiation and solar heat gain, allowing to lower the energy used for all AC systems. This has the potential to reduce as much as 80% of that gain, reducing C02 emissions by 30%.
– Reduction of PET bottles: guests are encouraged to use our glass bottles refillable with fresh purified wáter through our refill points.
– Toiletries collection includes reusable soap and shampoo dispensers that keep disposable bottles out.
– Eco-friendly pest control practices for our garden
– We recycles a range of materials including paper, plastic, and glass, and encourages guests to be conscious of their own waste.
– Other green features of our aparthotel include a rain-water harvesting system to collect and repurpose rain water for watering the garden.
– In our Rooftop Terrace, strict measures are applied, stopping using styrofoam and replacing it with 100% biodegradable and compostable packaging and cutting off of plastic straws.

Airport Transfer Service
We organize for our guest a Private Airport Transfer from Cancun International Airport directly to Aparthotel Onda Maya. Our Transfer service operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Your chauffeur will be waiting for you at the arrival airport terminal. After 2 hours in a comfortable air conditioned private van, you will reach Chiquila, the small harbor located north of the State of Quintana Roo, to board the traditional ferry. When you will arrive in Holbox, a golf-cart taxi will drop you off to our Hotel.

Schedules and Fares of Holbox Ferry
There are two companies running the ferries from Chiquilá to Holbox and viceversa, namely 9 Hermanos and Holbox Express. Their prices are equal and their schedules is listed below. Cost of the Ticket (one way): 220 Mexican pesos. NO Reservations are accepted. Trip Duration: 30 minutes.
Chiquilá – Holbox:
first course at 06:00am and every 30 minutes until the last one at 9,30pm.
Holbox – Chiquilá:
first course at 05:00am and every 30 minutes until the last one at 8,30pm.
Tours & Activities
We organize Tours & Activities to enjoy Holbox Island, Yucatan and the Mayan world!
In addition to the variety of activities offered on the island, our guests will be able to enjoy a variety of cultural tours and activities infact Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Chichén Itzá and all the most important ancient Mayan ruins of the Yucatan Peninsula are at just some hours away. All Tours need advance payment in cash.

Check-In & Check-Out
Check-in time is at 3:00 pm
If you arrive in the morning and your room is available before 3:00pm, we will gladly check you in immediately. Otherwise, we will store your luggage, give you full availability of our swimming pool and showers giving you the apartment as soon as it becomes available.
Check-out time is at 12:00 pm
You can decide to store your luggage with us so you don´t have to worry about carrying things with you. We have a private toilet and shower that you can use at any time after your Check-out.
Payments accepted
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Paypal and Cash (Mexican Pesos, US Dollars and Euros).
We recommend you always carry cash because, in our island, there is just two ATMs and credit card payments sometimes have problems. We remember that all Tours & Activities need advance payment in cash.
